Agbonlahor's brace carries Villa past Fulham
Soccer Betting Lines
01/30/2010 - London, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - A pair of first-half goals from Gabriel Agbonlahor was enough to lead Aston Villa to a 2-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Agbonlahor scored his goals four minutes apart at the end of the opening half, and Villa is now only two points back of fourth-placed Tottenham with a game in hand.
Fulham, meanwhile, has lost five straight games and has fallen to 11th in the league table.
Simon Davies tested Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel with a volley that the American needed to parry over the end line, while he watched Erik Nevland head over the net from inside the area.
Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer had to be alert to keep out a header from Luke Young, and he was fortunate that Stiliyan Petrov wasted a great chance by shooting over the net from six yards.
The game began to pick up and it was Villa that went ahead five minutes before halftime with Petrov's right-wing cross making its way to the near post for Agbonlahor to head home.
The cross should have been dealt with by Fulham defender Chris Smalling, but it was then Brede Hangeland's turn to take blame for a goal as Agbonlahor was allowed to take a pass inside the area from Carlos Cuellar, turn past Hangeland, and fire a well-placed shot inside the far post.
Substitute David Elm looked dangerous for Fulham in the second half when he had the ball in the net, but had it taken away for offsides, while only a last-ditch challenge from Villa defender Richard Dunne denied Elm another good scoring chance.
League-leaders Chelsea extended their advantage atop the league to four points as they downed Burnley, 2-1, with John Terry netting the winner seven minutes from time.
Tottenham was held to a 1-1 draw at Birmingham as Liam Ridgewell scored in stoppage time, Liverpool doubled up on Bolton, 2-0, to remain in fifth place, Tim Cahill's goal six minutes from time gave Everton a 1-0 win over Wigan, West Ham and Blackburn finished 0-0 at Upton Park and Hull City had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton when Matthew Jarvis scored in the 67th minute for Wolves.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
